In 2000 and just shy of his 50th birthday, Chris Taylor was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a
blood cancer. After years of treatment and an uphill battle, Chris was referred to the Bone Marrow/Stem
Cell Transplant team at The Princess Margaret. In 2004, Chris’ son, Patrick, provided the life-changing
second chance at life—a stem cell transplant. Chris enjoyed four years of remission before relapsing in
2008. After radiation and chemotherapy, Chris is once again in a healthy state of remission.
"I have seen and benefited from the breakthrough research and patient care carried out at PMH,"
said Chris. "I received world-class care from Dr. Hans Messner and the medical team, and believe
that their genuine interest in my well-being gave me the strength I needed to fight the disease."
This is just one example of the level of expertise that is provided at The Princess Margaret—one of
the top 5 cancer research centres in the world.
